The First Annual Oakland United Methodist Community Fun Day was a tremendous success! The event, which was held on June 6, was created and coordinated by Stacey Shaw and Tammy Perry. This pair felt a calling to organize a fair-style community event that included entertainment for all ages. The children enjoyed various games, face painting, balloon animal creations, and a bouncy house, while all guests enjoyed excellent food, cotton candy, snow cones, and more!

In addition to the food and games, there were outstanding performances by several musical groups. The event was totally free to all who attended.

Although the day started off looking like rain, the weather took a turn for the best, and the sun was shining by the start of the event. A few hundred community and church members attended, with children of all ages. With the first event being such a success, I think it’s safe to say that next year’s event will be even better!

Thank you, Stacey and Tammy, for a great event!
