Venango-Hatchie is one of the many outward Missions at Oakland United Methodist. The Venango-Hatchie Project is going on to its 17th year at Oakland, and has helped countless people, both in our community and across the globe. The mission of Venango-Hatchie is to help elderly and those at risk of losing their homes due to repair issues. Whether it’s replacing a leaky roof, building a ramp to allow for handicap accessibility, or any other construction project, Oakland is always up to the challenge.
If you are being called to an outward mission, and you have general or specific construction skills, this mission is for you. No construction skills? No problem! Come with a willingness to learn and a heart for helping others! Veining-Hatchie typically undertakes a week-long mission project each summer, and also handles various smaller projects as they arise throughout the year.
